An authorised Peppol Access Point, UK-native
Built for the UK 2029 Peppol model and live across the EU.
But it’s the on-ramp to the wider network, not a standalone compliance link, that’s the part a point solution can’t match.
Transalis is an authorised Peppol Access Point. One managed connection makes you ready for the UK’s 2029 mandate and today’s EU rules, and the same connection carries your orders and invoices across 15,000 trading partners in 50+ countries. No software to run, no standalone compliance tool to bolt on.
Trusted by 15,000+ connections, including AS Watson – Superdrug · Argos
One authorised Peppol connection makes you compliant across the UK and EU mandates as they land, and lets you trade the moment a partner or country goes live. Live in Belgium and France, building in the UK ahead of 2029.

Electronic invoicing (eInvoicing) is the exchange of a structured, machine-readable invoice, in a format such as XML or UBL, sent directly between a supplier’s and a buyer’s systems, with no manual handling. A PDF or scanned image is not a structured e-invoice: it’s a digital picture of paper that still has to be keyed in or screen-scraped. Transalis delivers eInvoicing as a fully managed outcome, we convert the format, route it over the Peppol network, and keep it compliant, so valid invoices flow system-to-system, and stay compliant as the rules change.
“A PDF is a picture of paper. A structured e-invoice is data systems can read: no typing, no scanning.”
The rules are set. The businesses that get ahead of them turn a compliance deadline into an operational advantage, the ones that wait pay for the scramble.
From 1 April 2029, eInvoicing is mandatory for all VAT-registered UK businesses, covering B2B and B2G (B2C is excluded). PDFs, JPEGs and Word files won’t qualify.
The UK has confirmed Peppol as the interoperability framework for the mandate, a decentralised four-corner model, with no central HMRC portal and no real-time reporting at launch. You’ll route through a certified Access Point, like Transalis. The full implementation roadmap, including technical standards, is due at the Budget 2026, and a phased introduction, larger businesses first, is on the table.
Many NHS and central-government suppliers must use eInvoicing today.
EU mandates land first, France from September 2026, with Germany, Spain, Poland and Belgium (live) close behind. A UK business invoicing an EU partner may already need Peppol now, some institutions accept nothing else. Waiting for 2029 can freeze international trade today.
VAT-registered and selling B2B or to the public sector → yes.
EU-wide, this is driven by ViDA and EN 16931, see how the standards fit together below.
Most invoicing pain traces back to one of these patterns. None of them is really a software problem, they’re all fragmentation.
Rekeying emailed PDFs into your ERP breeds errors, and every keystroke is a chance for a mistake to reach a customer.
One beverage manufacturer tracked 367 order errors a year this way, and 572 staff-hours lost.
Building eInvoicing natively in your ERP looks cheaper, until a validation rule changes and the build breaks at the worst moment.
A poultry supplier’s in-house Dynamics build failed and drew £35,000+ in chargebacks in two weeks.
A separate portal for every mandate fractures your data estate. Finance panic-buys, IT loses control, and you pay twice: a band-aid now, an overhaul later.
Five mandates, five portals, five things to maintain, and invoices divorced from the rest of your supply chain.
There’s a better way.One connection. Every mandate. Fully managed.
Transalis runs on a managed-outcomes model. We convert your formats, route over Peppol, monitor compliance and resolve issues, so you get compliant invoices without running software. At the centre is the Transalis Business Network: a single integration point that reaches 15,000+ organisations. Peppol itself works like a mobile network, connect to one Access Point and you can reach everyone on it. And every new partner or message type makes the network more valuable to everyone already on it.
Your system creates an invoice in whatever format it already uses.
Transalis converts it into the required structured format (Peppol BIS / EN 16931 / UBL).
Transalis routes it over the Peppol network to your partner’s Access Point, with no per-partner setup.
Transalis DataTrack™ monitors delivery and compliance in real time; the managed team resolves issues before they affect trading.
The same rail later carries your orders, forecasts and self-billing. eInvoicing is just the first payload.
The terms the mandates use, defined plainly, so you never have to become the expert.
Peppol eInvoicing is simply structured invoicing sent over the Peppol network, here’s what the key terms mean.
An open, secure global network (a “four-corner model”) that lets different ERP and finance systems exchange structured documents. Like a mobile network, you join through one Access Point and reach everyone on it.
A certified provider that connects you to the Peppol network. Transalis is an authorised AS4 Peppol Access Point.
Machine-readable invoice data (XML or UBL) sent system-to-system, not a PDF.
The standard business-document specification used on Peppol, built on EN 16931.
The European standard that defines a compliant e-invoice; both the UK and EU mandates reference it.
VAT in the Digital Age: the EU reform mandating structured eInvoicing and digital VAT reporting across member states.
Peppol isn’t a portal to log into. It’s a global trading passport.
All three are fully managed and Peppol-ready. Start where you are today; the network stays the same as you grow.
eInvoicing wired straight into your ERP or accounting system. Invoices are raised, Transalis converts them to Peppol / EN 16931, routed and reconciled automatically, both the invoices you issue and the supplier invoices you receive, with no manual rekeying.
Multi-country eInvoicing on one connection. Keep pace with Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) and new mandates across every market you trade in, with the reporting, validation and workflow depth large operations need.
Predictable, fixed-cost, no per-transaction penalty for growing.
A Peppol access point is fast becoming table stakes, several UK providers now offer one. What’s different about Transalis is what sits behind the access point: the same connection reaches a 15,000-partner supply-chain network and turns invoice data into live business intelligence. You’re not buying a compliance link; you’re joining the network that compliance rides on.
Built for the UK 2029 Peppol model and live across the EU.
But it’s the on-ramp to the wider network, not a standalone compliance link, that’s the part a point solution can’t match.
Format conversion, routing, compliance and error resolution all run by Transalis. Zero technical knowledge required.
Unlike platforms you still have to operate, Transalis runs the orchestration for you, you buy the result, not the toolkit.
A new country or rule needs no new integration. Compliance runs in the background, IT keeps one clean environment, and finance gets instant compliance.
Unlike a portal per mandate, Transalis heals the finance-versus-IT rift instead of widening it.
Fixed-cost, with no per-transaction success penalty, and Transalis DataTrack™ and ASIST turn invoice data into live orderbooks, stock and inventory insight.
Unlike pay-per-character networks that treat data as dead payload, Transalis puts your data to work.
EDI is the heavy-duty backbone of retail and logistics; APIs are the fast couriers for real-time data; eInvoicing is compliance. They coexist. Transalis orchestrates all three through one managed connection, Transalis OpenEDI™ and the Spinnaker engine, so you don’t bolt on a standalone eInvoicing tool when a mandate lands, and you don’t run three integrations.
APIs aren’t killing EDI; they’re making it better.
eInvoicing is the exchange of a structured, machine-readable invoice sent directly between a supplier’s and a buyer’s systems, with no manual handling. Transalis converts your invoice into the required format, routes it over the Peppol network and keeps it compliant, so it flows system-to-system.
Yes. From 1 April 2029, eInvoicing will be mandatory for all VAT-registered UK businesses, covering B2B and B2G. B2C is excluded, and PDFs or scanned images won’t qualify.
Any VAT-registered business selling to other businesses or to the public sector. Many NHS and central-government suppliers already have to today; from April 2029 it applies across B2B and B2G.
A structured e-invoice is invoice data in a machine-readable format such as XML or UBL that a buyer’s system can process directly. It’s different from a PDF, which still has to be read, keyed or scanned by a person.
Peppol is an open, secure global network that lets different ERP and finance systems exchange structured documents. Like a mobile network, you connect through one Access Point and can reach everyone else on it.
Peppol eInvoicing is structured, compliant invoicing sent over the Peppol network between certified Access Points. Transalis is an authorised AS4 Peppol Access Point, so you connect once and exchange compliant eInvoices with any partner on the network.
A Peppol Access Point is a certified provider that connects you to the Peppol network. Transalis is an authorised AS4 Peppol Access Point.
You connect to a certified Access Point, which validates your invoice, converts it to the Peppol format and routes it to your partner’s Access Point. With Transalis, that whole flow is managed, create the invoice in your system and we handle the rest.
EDI is the automated exchange of business documents (orders, invoices, shipping notices) between trading partners. eInvoicing is the compliant, structured exchange of invoices, often government-mandated. They coexist, and Transalis handles both on one connection.
EN 16931 is the European standard that defines a compliant e-invoice. ViDA (VAT in the Digital Age) is the EU reform mandating structured eInvoicing and digital VAT reporting across member states. Both are referenced by the mandates.
Yes. With Web eInvoicing you get compliant on the Peppol network through a managed portal, no in-house technical staff and no change to your accounting system.
No. One managed Transalis connection keeps pace with each mandate as it lands, so you never bolt on a separate portal per country.
For UK businesses, the strongest option is a Peppol-ready managed network rather than a standalone tool. Transalis is an authorised AS4 Peppol Access Point that handles onboarding, conversion and compliance on one connection, built for the UK 2029 mandate.
Confirm your VAT and B2B/B2G status, clean your master ERP data (dirty data causes validation rejections), connect to a Peppol Access Point, and bring your trading partners on. Transalis manages each step.
Invoices that fail validation can be rejected, and in retail that often means chargebacks. A managed connection validates and monitors every message before it reaches your partner, so errors are caught before they cost you.
Transalis delivers Peppol-ready, fully managed eInvoicing, every format, every mandate, no software to run.
Transalis is a managed outcomes provider for B2B integration, EDI and eInvoicing. Authorised Peppol Access Point (AS4). Live in Belgium and France, building in the UK.
