France PDP Accreditation: Transalis approved ahead of 2026 eInvoicing mandate
Transalis is now an approved France PDP, helping businesses comply with the 2026 French eInvoicing mandate. Discover what the mandate means and how we can support you.
When does the French eInvoicing mandate become mandatory for businesses?
France is introducing mandatory eInvoicing and eReporting in phases. From 1 September 2026, all VAT registered businesses must be able to receive eInvoices, and large and mid-sized businesses must also issue eInvoices and complete eReporting for B2B and B2C transactions. SMEs and micro-businesses join the mandate from 1 September 2027, when they too must issue eInvoices. Businesses must submit documents through an accredited PDP such as Transalis.
Transalis is proud to announce our accreditation as a France PDP (Partner Dematerialisation Platform) by the French tax authority (DGFiP).
This sought-after recognition confirms that our eInvoicing platform meets the stringent technical criteria required for the French mandate, coming in 2026. We are now positioned as a trusted partner to securely exchange electronic invoices and report transaction data directly to the French government's public platform (PPF). Our clients can also benefit from direct integration with their existing ERP and/or finance systems.

What is the French eInvoicing Mandate?
France is implementing a phased rollout of mandatory eInvoicing and eReporting, beginning in 2026.
The reform aims to reduce VAT fraud, improve tax transparency, and digitise financial workflows for increased efficiency. Under the mandate, VAT registered businesses in France:
- Must be able to receive eInvoices
- Must be able to issue eInvoices
- Must conduct eReporting of B2B and B2C transactions
- Must submit documents via a certified platform (PDP), like Transalis
Who must comply with the French eInvoicing mandate?
The mandate affects all businesses subject to French VAT, regardless of sector.
Implementation is staggered by company size:
- 2025: initial pilot phase with 116 businesses
- 2026: All businesses must be able to receive eInvoices. Large and mid-sized businesses must issue invoices electronically and carry out eReporting
- 2027: SMEs join the mandate for issuing eInvoices and eReporting
As outlined above, the French eInvoicing and eReporting mandate is imminent for many businesses. Affected organisations must act now to ensure they have a compliant solution in place ahead of the deadlines.
There are severe consequences for those who do not comply with the upcoming mandate. For example, non-compliance with eInvoicing requirements results in a 15€ penalty per invoice and non-compliance with eReporting results in a 250€ charge per transmission.*

Frequently asked questions
- What is a France PDP and why does it matter for eInvoicing?
A PDP, or Partner Dematerialisation Platform, is a provider accredited by the French tax authority to securely exchange electronic invoices and report transaction data to the government's public platform. Using an accredited PDP gives businesses a compliant route to meet the French eInvoicing and eReporting mandate, with the option to integrate directly with existing ERP and finance systems.
- Which businesses are affected by the French eInvoicing mandate?
The mandate affects all businesses subject to French VAT, regardless of sector, though the requirements are staggered by company size. All VAT registered businesses must be able to receive eInvoices from 1 September 2026, large and mid-sized businesses must also issue them and complete eReporting from that date, and SMEs and micro-businesses join for issuing from 1 September 2027.
- What happens if a business does not comply with the French eInvoicing mandate?
Businesses that fail to meet the eInvoicing and eReporting requirements can face financial penalties, with charges applied per non-compliant invoice or transmission, subject to annual caps. Acting early to put a compliant solution in place, such as working with an accredited PDP, helps businesses avoid disruption and stay ready ahead of the deadlines.
- Can eInvoicing be integrated with existing ERP or finance systems?
Yes. An accredited PDP can connect directly with a business's existing ERP and finance systems, so eInvoicing and eReporting requirements are met without replacing core software. This keeps invoice and document data moving automatically between trading partners while VAT reporting and compliance obligations are handled in the background.
